Feb 20 NCJW AZ Program “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly Down At the AZ Legislature. Since I started recording late, we will have to do a title card that in effect explains why we are doing this program – that as a social justice advocacy organization, we closely monitor legislation on issues that impact our mission to protect rights and improve the quality of lives.
Increasingly, what happens at State Capitols has the greatest affect on our lives. We have seen how the Supreme Court decision in Dobbs made abortion access a state legislative issue. We are seeing how Texas, with the support of 25 other Republican states, is defying federal law to put immigration in the hands of each state.
So at NCJW AZ, we recognize the critical importance of keeping our members and supporters aware of the Good, Bad and Ugly bills during the current legislative session which which is rife with wrangling, horse-trading and shenanigans right out of the Wild West. We may need a better “in” for Jodi…
